Welcome to St Mary’s. We are a vibrant and exciting community of learners.
This is my third year working as Deputy Principal at St Mary’s and I am so grateful to be part of the St Mary’s family. I have been teaching since 2003 in a variety of schools, mostly in Victoria and moved to Goondiwindi in 2019. Prior to teaching I was an electrical engineer, working mostly for Ford Motor Company in Geelong and Melbourne. That is why my areas of teaching are maths and science, specifically physics. I am interested in electronics and will always try to repair broken devices rather than throw them away, learning new skills in the process.
Teachers and school officers get to invest into the lives of their students who are the future of our world. It is more than a job – teaching is a mission, a passion. I believe in helping students to develop a life-long love of learning; if we stop learning, we die.
At St Mary’s, that passion is evident everywhere. If I ever wonder why I am still in education, I only need to chat to any of our students or our staff. Their enthusiasm and excitement is contagious. If only I could bottle and sell it….!
